What to Expect

Here I flush out the plan and email instructions to you. I’ll let you know what documents to wrangle and how to give me read-only access to bank accounts. If we need shared folders I’ll make them and send them to you so you have a place to start putting documents right away. I always make sure to give clear instructions with website or video links for anything you might not know how to do. If you prefer I hold your hand and talk you through anything in person, that’s ok, too!

We'll start with a quick chat

We’ll meet either in-person or via Google Meets and I’ll be your safe space for you to unload all your feelings. Ask me anything and we’ll start to get to know one another. It’s important to me that we are a good fit, and that you vibe with me and feel comfortable talking to me about your finances.

Before I can make a full plan, I will need accountant access to your bookkeeping software so I can review and assess how big of a project this will be. This process allows me to get a good idea of how much to charge you. I only look, never touch. It has to be done in order for me to quote a fair price, but it’s easy to undo if we decide not to work together, so don’t stress! You can boot me off anytime. I will email you instructions on how to do this. You’ll never be asked to figure out how to do something on your own!

After I get a chance to see what I’m working with, I send you an email with a quote. If you say “Let’s Do This!”, I write up a proposal and have you sign it. After the proposal is signed, I invoice you. After the invoice is paid we move on to the details!

Ongoing support is essentially the job description for monthly clients. I send financial reports monthly (if you want them). I usually get back to client questions within a day for email and text. Of course things come up and it may take longer, but I’ve never had anyone feel like they need to ask twice. For other services, I offer a specific period of support depending on the job we are doing. I like to be helpful and so far no one has taken advantage of that!

This is where I work and try to bother you as little as possible. Most people need a bit of harassing when questions arise and they are busy, so expect that part of my job is to hold you accountable. My goal is to never ask you to repeat something you already told me, but if I need some new info I’m not afraid to ask a few times until you get it to me. This is how we stay on top of the important details and you’ll be surprised how helpful it becomes.

I work way too many odd jobs, and am mostly self-employed, from dog sitting to teaching kids how to drive; I make money in sporadic increments, rarely have a steady income and with some jobs the taxes are paid through my employer.
