What if I don’t know what I need?
Then slide into my DMs cause this is what I love doing! Let’s just chat and see if we can’t get you on a path towards an answer, even if it never involves hiring me. I love to help direct small business owners to resources when they’re feeling overwhelmed.

Ok, so how are you going to save me money on taxes, then?
At my day job, I look at other people’s bookkeeping and evaluate the accuracy of those numbers before they hit the tax return. So I know what to look for. While most bookkeepers focus just on being accurate, I make sure your expenses are categorized with tax deductions in mind. Your tax preparer only sees the end result of the categories, and doesn’t have time to look into the details. Your bookkeeper is the bridge to your money come tax time, and I’m here to help you legally pay the least amount of taxes possible.

I need a tax preparer. Do you do taxes?
No. As a bookkeeper, I do not have the proper licensing to do your taxes. I do, however, work in the tax department at an accounting firm doing end of year bookkeeping for the tax accountant and have a good understanding of what they need from you at tax time. I can also work with your tax person and I know the lingo, so I can act as the middleman and save you the headache of trying to figure out what you need during the time crunch of tax season.

Do I have to live near you? Can we do this virtually?
If you live in the Milwaukee area, I’m happy to meet in-person. Otherwise, you can live anywhere in the U.S. and I can easily get your books done. You just have to have cloud-based accounting software and we can both access it from wherever we are. For teaching you to DIY, or for people who like to meet face-to-face, I use Zoom or Google. Otherwise email works very well and most clients love not having to spend the time to schedule an in-person meeting. I have clients in other states and virtual works very well!

What is this going to cost me? Do you charge by the hour?
Every business is different and no two businesses have the same needs. My goal is to never give you sticker shock, so I rarely charge by the hour. Instead I use package pricing and ask that you pay up-front for most services. Minimum package prices are listed below the services I offer, and once we discuss the needs of your business, I can give you a quote. Our initial talk is always free so don’t be afraid to reach out!
